In the third year of university, we were tasked with designing a VR escape room. We created an Aztec temple, influenced by films like Indiana Jones.
I worked primarily as the producer - however, I assisted with designing puzzles and illustrating the VR UI journal to assist the player in solving the game.
Inspired by the Crystal Maze, I designed and pitched these four puzzles for the four levels in the temple.

On a whiteboard, then in Photoshop, we planned the layout of the puzzle rooms and outlined how they would be ordered in the journal.

Below are the final illustrations I created for the journal.
I worked by outlining the original props and turning the sketches into alphas. I used layers of different shades of grey to make the sketches look authentic, like they were actually done by pencil, inspired by Drake's journal in Uncharted 4.
